An Opportunity For Jesus!!

Greetings to you in the precious name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

This is my first blog, inspired by the Holy Spirit. I was bit annoyed that I couldn’t fit or share God’s thoughts given to me through facebook status. I feel, the longer the facebook status is, people reading them decreases. Hence, I resolved to pen down the thoughts given by the Holy Spirit to me through blogs. Thanks be to Jesus, for this technology.

In this blog, I would like to share about Jesus’ first miracle in the bible. As you all know, it is the miracle of water turned into wine (John 2:1-11). I would encourage you to read the passage to get a clearer picture of it ( www.biblegateway.com-NIV). Mary said to Jesus “They have no more wine” and Jesus replied “My time has not yet come”. And Mary said to the servants “Do whatever he tells you.”

Many times when we face a problem and when we get exhausted with all possible ways and resources, we turn our eyes upon Jesus. It becomes a burden and we cast all these burdens upon the Lord. And we wait eagerly for immediate answers and get depressed when there isn’t a reply. My friend, how many of us try to listen to what God says? Most of the time, we have the monopoly in our prayers to God. You know what, Jesus says, “My time has not yet arrived.”

It is interesting to see what Mary did in this crucial situation. She told the servants to do whatever Jesus says. So Mary had faith and completely trusted in Jesus. How much more do we have to entrust our anxieties and cares upon the Lord. As we wait upon the Lord, for His timing, He does something marvellous which can blow up your mind.

Jesus performed his first miracle when he was given an opportunity. Water was turned into wine and the master of the banquet was astounded by the taste of the wine (Jn 2:9-10). The master thought that wine, out of miracle, was the best than what he gave earlier to his guests. That wine was better than the choicest available wine in Cana, Galilee. Though your situations are not favourable for a miracle, for Jesus it is possible. He needed water to turn it into wine. Similarly, the Master is looking for an opportunity in your life offered to Him for a miracle. That miracle performed by Jesus will be the best you can ever get in your life.

Once you cast the opportunity and wait for the Master to work on it, simply trust and remain in obedience to Him and you will see the choicest miracle which couldn’t have come to pass in a natural way. Don’t depend on your natural circumstances for miracles rather depend on Jesus, who works the miracle in a supernatural way, for all circumstances are under Him.

Give Jesus today, who is enthroned beside the Father, an opportunity!!

With Prayers,
Anish Philip
